Circleville Pumpkin Show

I don’t remember exactly when it happened. I guess it was somewhere around the age of 10 that I became a pumpkophile. So as you can imagine, the Circleville Pumpkin Show is an orange-kissed paradise for a gourd gal such as myself. We’re talking pumpkin pie, deep fried pumpkin pie, pumpkin butter, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin waffles, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin bread, pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin cream puffs, pumpkin chili, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin fudge, pumpkin taffy, pumpkin brownies, pumpkin cookies, and pumpkin burgers. Not to mention pumpkin hats, sweatshirts, and Christmas ornaments. Yes, I planned my week around making the scenic drive down Route 23 yesterday to catch the 105-year-old festival’s Pet Parade. I can think of no better way to Salute the Squash. Click here for more photos.
